The Amazon Cut

What Amazon FBA takes before you see a penny. Referral, fulfilment, storage and the selling plan per unit, plus a full-year GSV-to-net margin P&L by cases sold.

What FBA takes before you see a penny. Every fee per unit, plus a full-year GSV-to-net P&L by cases sold.

The workings

Amazon FBA charges you a referral fee on the sale price, fulfilment per unit shipped, storage per unit per month, and a monthly selling plan whether you sell or not. Each fee is small. Together they routinely take 35–50% of the sale price before your cost of goods enters the conversation. This page lines them up in fee order so you can see which one is doing the damage.

Selling by the case rather than the unit changes the answer more than any fee negotiation will: fulfilment and storage are charged per shipment, so a case of 24 spreads them 24 ways. It is the difference between a listing that works and one that pays Amazon for the privilege.

The full-year block prices a year of your stated volume, selling plan included. Fees here are dated defaults — check the rate card, then check Amazon's own fee schedule, in that order.
